MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whose your biggest influences

 

We formed in the depths of Hades eons ago and now we’re here to destroy noobs, in a nutshell.  We came from a fissure in the earth’s surface, or Rift, if you will.  Just kidding of course yes bands like Metallica, Foo Fighters, Muse, System of a down, Stone temple pilots, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Tool, are big influences of ours. 

 

 

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

Honestly my dog writes most of the music, he’s a pretty talented dude.

If you asked him I think he’d say Bacon most likely.

 

MM: What would you say is your Bands favorite song?

Well I’d say most requested by fans of ours live for us to play is Rock Narcotic, Deliverance, & Bad Luck. 

 

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2022

We’re hoping to announce some touring dates in the fall this year so far though we are performing on the 2022 Ivoted Festival which will be streamed online alongside Halestorm & Rise Against, looking forward to that it’s about encouraging people to vote here which is a great cause.  We’ll also be opening up for Tantric at The Whisky in Hollywood October 6th.  Pretty excited as well for our chance to perform at The Hollywood Bowl through Opening Act, voting starts July 11th for that one so make sure you guys go vote for us!

 

MM: What can we expect from (The Rift) live

You’re going to get an absolute kick ass rock show and you may feel like getting naked at some point lol

 

 

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring

Love connecting with the fans and performing consistently, probably the long

Hours on the road or not showering for days on end

 

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

I feel like it’d be awesome to tour with so many bands but would be rad to

Go out with Killswitch Engage, Steel Panther those guys crack me up, or the Foo fighters

 

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why 

I saw the Police and the Foo Fighters at Dodger stadium forever ago, it was crazy.  Dave Grohl climbed what must have been a 200 ft tall sound tower with his guitar it was epic man

 

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

I put pants on today so that’s got to count right?  One time we were playing live and we

Were shredding so hard we killed a hoard of blood thirsty vampires so that was cool!   Playing Warped Tour was a dream come true and getting our music onto an iconic radio station like 95.5 KLOS was a huge deal as well.  Now we’ve got some other big things in the works that might top that list

 

MM: Which are your Two favorite Albums of all time

Such a hard question I’ll go with Ride the Lightning Metallica & Absolution by Muse

 

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you? 

 

I can we were in different bands then and I was just a kid.  It was pretty nerve racking to me back then to have people watching us but I think it is for most people starting out.  We played a bunch of Deep Purple covers, poorly lol, but it was a good time

 

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

Metallica, Iron Maiden, Trivium, I still have some of those posters up!

 

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

That’s a tough one for sure so many absolute icons that have made it what it is today Lemmy comes to minde, Dio, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, I think you have to start there. 

 

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

Just continuing our pursuit of creating a galactic empire with our music.  We have big goals and you know it’s just something we really want to do.  No seriously number one priority for us right now is winning this slot at The Hollywood Bowl we need everybody to help us out with that one so check our socials for more information on that, but it would be a game changer for us.

 

MM: If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

We’re currently working on our own version of Black Magic Woman that has some prog

And thrash metal elements mixed into it pretty excited for that one!  I’ve always been drawn

To the way Santana played that a lot of expression in his playing & if you follow us you

Know we love combining elements of flamenco with metal. 

 

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

Ovais will hunt you down if you don’t, I wouldn’t want to be in that situation. 

I think he’s got infinity stones or something..
